Our Asparagus is ready and available in limited quantities at the farm for pick up on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays between 9AM and 2PM only. Saturday pickups will be possible between 9AM and 11AM only.

Please place your orders (including when – day and time – you would like to pick up) by emailing info@brooklandsfarm.ca by 5PM the night before, or by filling out our Contact form (button at top right). We will email back and confirm, whereupon you can pay by etransfer to the same email. Your order will be ready for pick up as you requested on the table at the barn with your name on it.

Description

We harvest two varieties of Asparagus starting in early May for about a month.

Jersey Giant is a variety with fat large succulent spears with a sweet, nutty flavour similar to sweet peas. Quite delicious!

Millennium is the other variety with thinner spears and is Ontario’s #1 favourite as it is high yielding and delicious. As our spears are harvested and sold within minutes to hours of picking, the entire 8-10 inch spear is tender and edible.

Our favourite way of cooking Asparagus is to steam the spears for about 3 minutes and savour them smothered with sour cream or butter.
